This month, we're thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our invaluable team members, Bryan Hurcombe!
Bryan is a Director at DCR Partners. His role involves working with clients to solve diverse challenges, leading the Cyber and Operational Resilience Proposition by building the necessary team and capabilities, and managing internal operations to drive growth.
What is your role at DCR?
“I am a Director at DCR Partners so i’m responsible for a wide range of things, but my three main responsibilities are:
Working with clients to help them solve some pretty interesting challenges, the nature of the work can be broad and varied which I really enjoy.
Leading the Cyber and Operational Resilience Proposition where I am responsible for building the team and capabilities required to support our clients with those interesting challenges.
Managing the internal operation of the business, I work with the leadership team to supercharge our growth but in a controlled and proportionate way.”
What is your favourite part of working at DCR?
“If I was to pick one it would be the culture. I have worked in lots of different organisations and experienced many different types of culture - good, bad and otherwise but the culture here is by far the best I have experienced bar none. We are a small team, and everyone is super busy, but we all find time to help each other, no ask is ever too big or small.”
What are you most proud of in your career?
"I served in the military for 23 years and spent ten years in the Big4 so there are a bunch of things in there but actually, the thing that I am most proud of right now is how I changed my career in order to support my son who is autistic and lives with me full time."What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
“When I’m not on my motorbike or walking my Great Dane called Indy, you can find me on the archery range where I enjoy shooting Olympic recurve (badly!)."
What's one thing on your bucket list?
“Riding a motorbike across South America. I keep saying I’m going to do it but have never quite got there (there’s still time!!)."
What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
“Slow down and take in your surroundings, it’s not a race."
